Camp Activities In Detail 

 
Day 1: Let’s Make Friends!

15 min - Opening Circle: Peaceful Principals for how to Zoom together productively
5 min - Energizer to get kids moving
15 min - Team Building - Kids play "Raise Your Peace Fingers If..." to help kids get to know one another and find commonalities
45 min - Main Activity 1: Group discussion around the question, "What is peace?". Kids will design their own peace sign magnet
5 min - Another energizer to get the kids moving
45 min - Main Activity 2: Group check in; talk about importance of expressing emotions. Kids will make Emotion Emoji's on sticks so that throughout the week they will be able to easily answer the question, "How are you feeling?"; they'll also grow their own Peace Plant Pal (planting grass seeds) to symbolize and emphasize the care and attention needed to "grow peace."

Day 3: Powerfully Positive Words
 
"I pledge to use my words to speak in a kind way."
This is the first day we get into putting the lines of The Peace Pledge into action.
Each day that follows is themed around the next line of the pledge.

15 min - Team Building
45 min - Main Activity 1: The Power of Positivity - Applied Kinesiology - testing the power of positive words on our physical strength; make positive post-it notes for kids to place around their home; decorate peace rocks to place around their community, write positive messages on face masks
5 min - Another energizer to get the kids moving
45 min - Main Activity 2: Create an entry for the "I Am Powerful" book; Kids will write an affirmation on a piece of paper and color a picture to support their statement. Their entries will be submitted for a chance to be published in the next Kids for Peace book!
